With over 20 years of experience in international education and more than 5,000 student visa files successfully processed, Mr Harsha Perera is a highly respected leader in the global education consultancy sector. As the Founder and CEO of AEMC Global, Mr Harsha has helped students from Sri Lanka, Australia, the UK, Seychelles, Mauritius, and other regions realise their dreams of studying abroad.
Mr Harsha’s entrepreneurial journey began in his childhood when he first demonstrated his leadership and business skills by selling firecrackers for a friend’s father to help clear excess stock. That early experience sparked a passion for business that continued to grow. He worked as a store assistant in Sri Lanka before moving to Australia to pursue his higher studies. In 2006, Mr Harsha founded AEMC from his apartment—starting with just one student. From those humble beginnings, he built AEMC into the global brand it is today.
A passionate advocate for future-ready education, Mr Harsha consistently keeps himself updated through McKinsey reports, PwC insights, and global economic research. This knowledge allows Mr Harsha to provide exceptional guidance to students, helping them choose academic programs aligned with future industry demands. His unique approach to student counselling and staff training ensures each student receives informed, practical, and strategic advice.
Mr Harsha has been instrumental in introducing innovative academic pathways to Sri Lankan students. He encouraged students to explore STEM fields and groundbreaking disciplines such as telesurgery, bioinformatics, and artificial intelligence, moving beyond traditional options. Under Mr Harsha’s guidance, many students have gone on to work with the United Nations, the Australian Government, and global technology giants.
Known for his honest and straightforward approach, Mr Harsha always prioritises the best interest of students and their families. When it comes to selecting the right educational path, Mr Harsha ensures parents receive clear, direct advice to support their children’s long-term success.
Apart from his professional achievements, Mr Harsha’s service to the Sri Lankan community has been equally inspiring. He has been deeply involved in philanthropic activities, including organising almsgivings for Buddhist monks and providing essential goods to pregnant mothers in need. Through these efforts, Mr Harsha has shown an unwavering commitment to uplifting the lives of those around him, further solidifying his role as a leader both in business and in his community.
Today, Mr Harsha continues to lead AEMC Global with integrity, innovation, and a deep commitment to empowering the next generation of global professionals.
